Moroccan kickboxing star Mohammed Boutasaa is hoping to halt a two-fight losing streak this weekend as he returns to the ring at ONE Friday Fights 35.
Born in the Netherlands to a Moroccan family Boutasaa had been perfect in his first fifteen bouts, including his ONE debut but two defeats in the last 12 months have somewhat halted his momentum.
The 24-year-old will be looking to address that slide tomorrow (Friday) when he takes on Turkey’s Furkan Karabag at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
After an impressive debut win against Georgian veteran Davit Kiria via unanimous decision at ONE 157 in May 2022, Boutasaa suffered two straight losses that blemished his overall record, which currently stands at 15-2.
The 24-year-old lost via unanimous decision against Thai star Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and impressive Iranian Mohammad Siasarani in October 2022 and in May 2023, respectively.
Now, Boutasaa is set to face 25-year-old Karabag, who owns a 26-7 overall professional record and a 1-1 ONE record, after he picked up a debut win against Thailand’s Revo Sor Sommai via third-round TKO on his debut in February 2023 before losing to Nico Carrillo via third-round TKO in April 2023.
ONE Friday Fights 35 comes live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand on Friday September 29. Fight fans in the MENA region can watch action BeINSPORTS from 3.30pm MECCA, or through ONE Championship’s official YouTube channel and on watch.onefc.com
